Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DIRTYSNOW ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, analyzes, and shares information in connection with dirtysnow, available at www.dirtysnow.co (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account information: your email address and your password. Passwords are stored only in salted, hashed form and are never stored in plaintext.

Files and content: the files you upload, together with their file names, sizes, file types, and upload timestamps.

Sharing information: the share links (tokens) you generate and whether a file is shared.

Technical and usage data: your IP address, browser and device information, cookie and session identifiers, log data, timestamps, and records of actions you take in the Service (such as uploads, downloads, and logins).

Cookies: we use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a security (CSRF) cookie to protect requests. These are necessary for the Service to function.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service (including authentication, abuse prevention, and rate limiting); analyze usage and performance to understand how the Service is used and to improve it and develop new features; analyze data to help improve our business and the solutions and products we offer to our customers; communicate with you about the Service; and comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

We analyze the information we collect — including account and usage data, file metadata[, and the contents of the files you upload] — using automated tools and artificial intelligence (AI) systems. We do this to understand and improve how the Service performs, to develop and refine the solutions and products we offer to our customers, and to support and grow our business. This analysis may be performed by us or by trusted service providers, including third-party AI providers, acting on our behalf. [Where required by applicable law, we will obtain any necessary consent before carrying out such analysis.]

Privacy by tier. The analysis described above applies to free accounts, which help us improve the product. Paid plans are private by default: the contents of files in a paid account are not used to train or analyze our systems, and are processed only as needed to provide the Service to you (for example, to store, retrieve, and share your files at your direction).

4. How We Share Information

We may share information: (a) as directed by you — for example, any file you make available through a share link can be downloaded by anyone who has that link; (b) with service providers and processors who help us operate, host, secure, or analyze the Service (including AI providers), under obligations of confidentiality; (c) when required by law or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property; and (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. [We do not sell your personal information.]

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, improve our business, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete files at any time within the Service. We do not guarantee that any information will be retained, and information may be deleted or lost as described in our Terms.

6. Security — Provided "AS IS"

We take measures intended to protect your information, such as hashing passwords, supporting encrypted connections when the Service is properly deployed, and restricting access. However, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, all such measures and the privacy and security of the Service are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranty of any kind. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You acknowledge and accept that you use the Service at your own risk, and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any unauthorized access to, or loss, disclosure, or alteration of, your information. This is in addition to the disclaimers and limitations in our Terms of Service.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can access and delete the files you upload from within the Service, and you can stop using the Service at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing, including automated processing and AI analysis. To exercise any such rights, contact us through our contact form.

8. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"), gives you certain rights and requires the disclosures below. Whether the CCPA applies to us depends on statutory thresholds; we provide this section for transparency and to the extent the CCPA applies.

Categories of personal information we collect. In the past 12 months we have collected: identifiers (such as your email address, account identifier, and IP address); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as logs and records of the actions you take in the Service); geolocation data (approximate location inferred from your IP address); sensitive personal information (your account log-in credentials — that is, your password — and any sensitive information you choose to include in files you upload); and the contents of the files and communications you upload ("customer content").

Sources. We collect this information directly from you and automatically from your device and browser.

Business and commercial purposes. We use this information for the purposes described in Sections 2 and 3 — including providing and securing the Service, and analyzing data (including with AI) to improve the Service and our business.

Disclosures. We may disclose the categories above to service providers and processors (such as hosting, security, and AI providers), to authorities where required by law, and to parties to a business transfer, as described in Section 4.

Sale or sharing. [We do not "sell" your personal information or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" method.] Where applicable, we honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted by the CCPA, such as providing the Service and securing your account. [If we ever use it beyond those permitted purposes, you may ask us to limit its use ("Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information") using the contact below.]

Your rights. Subject to the CCPA, you have the right to know and access the personal information we have collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of any sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

How to exercise your rights. Submit a request through our contact form. We will take reasonable steps to verify your request (for example, by confirming control of your account email) before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.

Retention. We retain each category of personal information as described in Section 5[, generally for as long as your account is active and for [period] afterward, unless a longer period is required by law].

Shine the Light. [We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.]

9. Children

The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in [the country where the Service is hosted] and other locations, which may have different data-protection laws than those of your own country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated Policy takes effect when posted, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the changes.

12. Contact
